Brief Profile of
Very Rev. Bitrus Y. Bawa PhD.:
Bitrus Yusuf Bawa is a Nigerian. He hails from Agwatashi in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. He is an ordained pastor working with Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC). He is happily married to Mrs. Veronica Bawa and their marriage is blessed with Children. His schooling years sprang from 1983 when he began his Primary education at Abagu in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria to 2018 when he bagged his Doctor of Philosophy in Practical Theology from the prestigious University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg in South Africa. He is also an Alumnus of Government College, Obi where he obtained his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1994 and Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN) Bukuru, an Affiliate of University of Jos where he obtained his Bachelor of Divinity Degree (BDD) in 2000 and Master of Theology (MTh) in 2005. Within the last 23 years of his working career with the church, the Very Rev Dr. Bawa had the privilege of lecturing at ERCC Theological Seminary, Fadan Ayu in Kaduna State for 20 years. While in ETS Fadan Ayu, he also doubled as Reverend in-charge of ERCC LCC Graceland, Fadan Karshi from 2009 to 2010. He was Reverend in-charge of ERCC LCC Television, Kaduna from 2012 to 2014. Thereafter, he returned back to ETS, Fadan Ayu where he serves till date. Having spent most of his working years as a teacher, he was also privileged to serve in various committees and leadership positions in the Seminary such as Sports Master, Academic Dean, Registrar, President ETS Multipurpose Cooperative Society and, currently, the Provost of the Seminary. He has attended workshops and Seminars both within and outside the country. Among his publications are Theological Notes on Selected Pastoral Studies; Empowering the Powerless through Pastoral Leadership and Premarital Counselling in African Context... Apart from South Africa where he studied at doctoral level, he also visited Ethiopia. By God’s grace, Bitrus Yusuf Bawa is a teacher, preacher, counsellor and an author.
